at the end of the night-getting close to 9:00. he did great. he's usually in bed at 8:00 and he didn't go to bed until 9:30 and woke up this morning happy as could be. thank you God for a happy, content baby.

• wow, it has been a long time since i've updated the blog. these past two months have been busy w/ errands, making christmas gifts, MOPS(mothers of preschoolers) meetings at church, dr's appts and just life. we are all doing well.

• the second half of october was uneventful.

• november brought new fun w/ 'real' food. i am making our own baby food. it is surprisingly easy and very cheap. his first food was rice cereal, then we added some fruit and he was able to try sweet potatoes for thanksgiving. they are his favorite vegetable. he's doing really well with new flavors. fruits are always a hit. he enjoys pears, peaches, apples, peas, sweet potatoes and he can try yellow squash and zucchini in january. he does not like butternut squash or avocado right now. we'll wait a couple of weeks and try again.

• december brought our 6 month check up. he got a great report. dr. bubba said he was a well-balanced, big boy. 90th percentile for head circumfrence, lenght and weight. 18 lbs. 5 oz. he has had his first round of seasonal and h1n1 flu shots. the second round comes in mid-january. he did great! he is beginning to get rowdy during playtime. jumping around in his exersaucer and mimi is teaching him to bang, bang, bang toys. until next time......

Sunday, 12/6-fell asleep holding links and blankets. sundays are looonnngggg days for him. church twice and then we went to judy's that night. this pic was taken about 10:00pm.

12/7-fingers through blanket when i went to get him up from a nap. cracked me up and i just had to get a picture to share

12/7-note his blanket tied to the crib. he loves to pull his blanket to his face and cuddle, but he woke a couple of times with the blanket over his face, so that was my remedy.

big boy in his bumbo holding his head up on his own. he couldn't do that just 3 weeks ago.

okay, since last time. we did get our 4 month shots. he weighed 16lbs, 4 oz. the dr. said we should slow down what we're feeding him b/c if he continues on the same weight gain trend, he will be too big. he was in the 95th percentile for weight(weighs more than 95% of other 4 month olds-and that's full term 4 mo. olds, he's not measured against premies anymore). he gets to start rice cereal as soon as i buy some. his high chair is down from the attic and ready to go. if he continues to do well holding his head in the bumbo, the exersaucer will be coming down soon. he's smiling a lot and talking a lot more. it seems likely that he will be laughing before too long, and rolling over soon after laughing. so much going on. babies are amazing. next dr. visit isn't until december 1st. briggs will be able to experience sweet potatoes on thanksgiving, so that is fun and probably messy, too! 'til next time.....love to all. we miss you.

9/23-in his bumbo-had to put a pillow behind his head. he's not able to keep it forward, yet.

we've been doing okay. we had a sunday school class retreat to land between the lakes in kentucky(sept 17-20) and had a nice time. bo and i came home w/ colds, but briggs seems to be fine, which is such a blessing. he's getting big and quickly outgrowing more clothes. we're getting BIG smiles these days. he's mesmorized w/ fans and lights. losing lots of hair and it is being replaced w/ light brown fuzz. we have our 4 month check up on october 1st w/ more shots and we should be able to start on cereal. guess bo will be getting the high chair down from the attic. it soon will be time for the exersaucer as well. once his neck is a little stronger.
