houston-october 10-14
annelise at the little rock airport
had a fabulous time in houston visiting keith and jodi and bennett. so glad angie could go. we were able to have one girl night where we stayed up late talking like teenagers and i soooo felt it the next day. i hate to say i'm too old for late nights!! we arrived on friday afternoon, some shopping on saturday, mass on sunday(which was really cool! my first time to mass-it's nice for me to broaden my realm of experiences), had dinner with cameron and hannah sunday evening. went to a local park for the kids on monday and home on tuesday. as always, we ate really well-went to HEB twice. what a great store. wish we could get one here, but it's pretty much a texas store.
sweet bennett!!!

long, but SUPER fun weekend
well, it started last thursday. we went to see the black keys at the new daisy and didn't get in until 1 am and i shortly realized i am MUCH too old to stay out that late. but, shall i say it was worth it-they ROCKED and if they come to town again i think i'll be there. well, old in the sense that i have a schedule and have to work, you know, not that i am OLD. then friday, we got up and drove to st. louis and watched a cardinals game, which they won. then saturday night we saw jim gaffigan, who is too hilarious-i was in tears. drove home sunday then last night we went to the raconteurs at the cannon center, and they too ROCKED! and we were able to get home by 11:30, which fits into my schedule much better. again, if they come to town-i'll be there. i went into work late, so i was able to recouperate. so i had a great time, but glad that (as B had penned it) rocktember is over.

more catchin' up
had my sis-in-law's baby shower first saturday in september.
the baker did a great job on the cake. guest book was a brown paper scrapbook embellished with "jungle" paper, ribbon, stickers, stamps and brads.
favors were cellophane bags, filled with m&m's and sealed with custom stickers.
invites featured drawn images that match baby's bedding on craft paper.
red cups in punch pic also feature custom stickers of drawn images.
then friends' shower on the 20th
this is the shower for the blue/brown invite in previous post. card here features stamped images embellished with aqua adhesive rhinestones. we had a wonderful menu featuring cheese and chocolate fondues with awesome dippers, fried mac and cheese bites, flank steak on wheat rolls and the awesome slushy punch. endive lettuce boats to boot. check out the cupcakes-we made those, too!!!
favors were "milk" bottles purchased at hobby lobby, filled with body wash and embellished with custom stickers and brown sheer ribbon.

movie night
went really well. super fun watching the movie outside, other than the bugs. we frequently used the bug spray. we had a plumbing mishap before we left, so i arrived late and in a flurry, so i didn't get a single pic. but don't worry, the plumbing problem is now fixed.

creations with help from friends
here are some of the latest things i've been working on:
okay, there was a pic here, but i took it off due to the fact it had a friends home and email address. will block those out, retake pic and post again. sorry.
movie night invitation.
oh, this is going to be so much fun. it's going to be at m's house. we're doing a whole movie theatre theme. we'll have movie fare: popcorn, pretzels, hot dogs, candy, nachos, etc. we're watching 'the thin man' from 1934. so exicted!!
favors for a baby shower. thank you j.b. and m for your help! shower is this weekend. obviously we're going with a butterfly theme. favors are coasters that are easily made and within a strict budget.
to stay with a clean, simple, butterfly theme i stamped plain napkins with one of our stamps. cute, fabulous, easy and cheap! great combination.
i'll take pics and post them of the decor and table setting.

update
it has been a few days since an entry. nothing spectacular here. 4th of july was grand. had lunch with the family at my parents. i was off thursday the 3rd so i really enjoyed the looong weekend. just work, work, work this week. each day we are making progress. dr. b saw his first patient since the accident this week. it's nice to work with him again. his absence has truly made me appreciate how easy it is to work with him chairside. worked on favors for an upcoming baby shower with fellow hostesses thursday night.
today, i had lunch with old friends. we've known each other for about 16 years now. even though we don't get together too often, it's like we've never been apart. the company of good friends is so comforting-to know that they're always there and to know that won't change.
jen and jess-thanks for my coconut cake :-)
finished some invitations and went to dinner with friends. all in all, a great day. all i can say is i am greatly blessed by a great and mighty God!!!

God is so good
There are times in my life I can't help but see God b/c He's made it so obvious for me. He has reached down and touched someone and they do something so out of character I know it is a gift from God through someone else. I thank Him for His greatness and showing me He has more for me than any eye has seen, ear has heard or mind has conceived (1 Corinthians 2: 9).

Deeper Still
It is difficult to put into words the wonderful time I had. The road trip with girlfriends, fun shopping and amazing messages from God's word that spoke directly to me. It is so amazing that, through His servants, our huge God speaks to us individually. Oh, how He loves me and oh, that truth and knowledge overwhelm my heart with joy and gratitude. Can I just say that Travis Cottrell and praise team were phenomenal. I heard and am learning some great songs that are already on my iPod. As the Holy Spirit joined us, Philips arena was transformed into a 19,000 seat sanctuary. I am so grateful for God's divine appointment for me to attend this conference. I hope it is in His plans for me in the future as well.

back on track?
dr. p started working yesterday, so we're able to get more patients scheduled, which means we can work more. so, it's nice to feel like i'm helping the family finances. we are keeping her quite busy.
i'm off tomorrow-will be on the way to atlanta for a day of fun (shopping, sight seeing) before the women's conference starts friday night. i've gotta pack and do some light cleaning so the house will be nice when B gets home from his trip. boy, will the dog be happy to see him. so, i'll see you next week once i've regained access to a pc.

weekend/work
well, saturday we helped at a local women's shelter, relieving them of some of their chores for the morning. one did notice and was appreciative. sunday we got up late so only made it to class. this morning i dropped B off at the airport for his business trip. i'm leaving thursday am and he's coming home thursday pm, so i won't see him until sunday th 29th. it's been a long time since we've been apart that long. but...i'm going to atlanta for the deeper still women's conference and i am so pumped. i can't wait for the car ride with friends and to do some shopping. the event speakers are kay arthur, beth moore and priscilla shirer. i can't wait to see what God has in store for me and for my friends. it is an exciting time.
work is still crazy confusing. dr. p did get her license, but we're not sure if/when she's working. we're on a day to day information schedule, which y'all know is beyond difficult for me since i'm a planner and list maker about 2 weeks ahead of every situation. i'm having to learn to be a little more flexible, which is good. it's something i need to learn before B and i have kids.

patio set
we received this patio set from family in little rock. i brushed, sandpapered, primed, painted and painted some more to achieve this final result. it took me 3 weekends, but i am much pleased with the outcome. it is very rewarding when a project turns out in reality the way you saw its completion in your mind. also, in the photos you can see the patio we finished last labor day. that as well was an exciting finale that turned out in reality just the way we'd envisioned it in our minds.
